Do you give free estimates?
Yes — on site, not over the phone. A renovation price given without seeing the space is a guess, and guesses only ever get revised upward. We come out, look at the room, and give you a written scope that says what is included and what is not.
What areas do you serve?
We are based in Clifton, New Jersey and work across North Jersey — Montclair, Glen Ridge, Nutley, Wayne, Paramus, Rutherford and the surrounding towns — plus rowhouse and brownstone work in Hoboken, Jersey City and New York. If your town is not listed, call and ask.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes, for the work we carry out, and we file permits and meet inspectors on the jobs that require them. Ask to see the paperwork — any contractor who hesitates at that question has told you something important.
Who will actually be doing the work?
Our own crew. We self-perform the core trades — carpentry, tile, drywall, painting — rather than subcontracting everything out, and you have one point of contact from demolition to punch list. Where a job needs a licensed specialist trade, we bring in people we have worked with and stay accountable for their work.
How does payment work?
In stages tied to progress, not to the calendar. We do not ask for the bulk of a project's cost before work begins, and you should be wary of anyone who does. Changes are priced and agreed in writing before they happen, never discovered on a final invoice.
Do you take on small jobs, or only full renovations?
Both. Small repairs work best batched into a half-day or full-day visit — send the list with photos and we will tell you what it takes before we arrive. And if a small job turns out to be a symptom of something bigger, we tell you what we found and you decide.
How long does a bathroom or kitchen renovation take?
A straightforward full bathroom gut generally runs two to three weeks on site once materials are in hand; kitchens run four to eight weeks, with material lead times — not labour — usually setting the pace. We identify long-lead items early so they are ordered in time.
Do you work in occupied homes?
Most of our clients stay in the house while we work. Work areas are sealed off with proper dust barriers, walkways protected, and the site cleaned at the end of each day. We agree working hours in advance and tell you ahead of the days when water or power will be off.
