We hired Zack's Home Improvement for a full bathroom gut and they nailed it. They demo'd everything — bathtub, shower, and floor all the way down to the walls. From there they installed a beautiful dual shower, double vanity, new tile floor plus tile in the shower and shower floor, recessed lights, built-in shelves, and cabinets. The job came out fantastic. Quality tile work, everything is level and solid, and the plumbing is perfect with zero leaks. Zack and his crew were professional, respectful of our home, and kept us updated throughout. A full gut is the only way to reach the parts of a bathroom that decide whether it lasts. Taking the walls back past the old substrate is what lets a proper waterproofing membrane go in behind the tile, and pre-sloping the shower pan to the drain is why water cannot sit under it later. "Zero leaks" is not luck — it is the rough plumbing being set and pressure-checked while the wall is still open.

I rarely leave reviews, but this company truly impressed me. We were referred by a friend and hired them to install a half bathroom in our basement. From the start, they were professional, organized, and responsive to our concerns. One of my biggest worries was the timeline, but they promised a 10-day turnaround—and delivered right on time. The finished bathroom looks flawless, like it was always part of the house. We're beyond satisfied and will definitely be using them again to build a custom bar!

Adding a bathroom to a basement is a drainage problem before it is a finishing one — below the sewer line, waste has to be lifted rather than fall. Getting that right, and dealing with the damp a below-grade wall carries, is most of the work. "Like it was always part of the house" is the actual test.

Doing a whole house at once buys decisions a single room never can — running electrical properly through walls that are already open, correcting an awkward layout while the framing is exposed, and upgrading insulation for almost nothing extra.

We could not have been more pleased with Willie with Zack's Home improvement with our master bathroom renovation. It all started with a large leak from the master shower into our office below, causing severe damage to the shower subfloor.

This is the failure a bathroom is waterproofed against. Cement board is not waterproof — water passes straight through it — so without a bonded membrane behind the tile a shower will eventually find the subfloor, and then the ceiling below. By the time it shows as a stain, the damage is already done.

Mid-century housing stock hides a predictable set of problems once it is opened up — undersized headers, joists notched through for a waste line, and wiring that predates any sensible load. Finding them during demolition is the cheap moment to fix them.

Six years on and still the review people find first. Work upstairs means every load has to be carried by what is under it — a floor that flexes will crack tile and open joints no matter how well the finish went on.

Custom tile is decided before the first cut. Where the full tiles land, where the cuts fall and how grout lines meet at inside corners is set out on the floor first — get it wrong and you leave a sliver cut at eye level that no amount of good workmanship hides.
